Musicians and movie stars joined world leaders before more than 60,000 spectators at the Global Citizen Festival in New York to promote The World Bank's twin goals of ending extreme poverty by 2030 and boosting shared prosperity. President Jim Kim told the cheering crowd that ending extreme poverty in a single generation was ambitious but achievable. Musicians Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, John Mayer and the Kings of Leon performed at the event, which also drew humanitarian Bono and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
