WASHINGTON, September 1, 2015--The 2018 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group will take place in Bali Nusa Dua, Indonesia, in October 2018, following a vote by the Boards of Governors of the two institutions.

This will be a great opportunity to showcase Indonesia’s impressive economic and social achievements, as well as the culture, beauty, and vitality of the country,” said Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the IMF.
“I thank President Widodo and the people of Indonesia for the invitation. It will be an honor for our institutions that the meetings will be hosted in Bali Nusa Dua,” said World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim.
The Annual Meetings bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives, civil society, media and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, global financial stability, poverty eradication, jobs and growth, economic development, aid effectiveness and climate change.
The Annual Meetings are usually held for two consecutive years at the IMF and World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C. and every third year in another member country.
