WASHINGTON, March 30, 2018 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:
Mexico – Additional Financing for Energy Efficiency in Public Facilities Project (PRESEMEH)
IBRD Credit: US $50 million equivalent
Terms: Maturity = 14.5 years (Bullet repayment)
GEF Grant: US$ 5.79 million equivalent
Project ID: P165585 & P160778
Project Description: The Project aims to promote the efficient use of energy in the Mexican municipalities by carrying out energy efficiency (EE) investments in selected municipal sectors and contribute to strengthening the enabling environment. The additional loan would support activities that scale-up the impact of the Project by extending its support to two key public sectors with large untapped EE potential: health and education. The scale-up would cover EE investments in 350 schools and 15 large hospitals, which would achieve around US$150 million in energy savings over the lifetime of those investments.
