Project Description: The objective of the project is to reduce the vulnerability of coastal communities to cyclones and other natural disasters. This will be accomplished by improving early warning and communication systems and by enhancing the capacity of communities to respond to disasters. In addition, the project will improve access to emergency shelter, evacuation, and protection against wind storms, flooding and storm surges in high risk areas, and strengthen the disaster risk management capacity at central, state and local levels.
