The World Bank Group’s Women, Business and the Law dataset maps the “hidden laws” that curtail women’s economic empowerment and their ability to enter the workplace and start and grow their businesses. Discriminatory laws can affect women's demand for financial services and impede their ability to save, borrow, pay or insure themselves against risk. Financial inclusion involves access to and usage of various fi nancial services, such as savings, payments, credit and insurance from formal service providers.
