World Bank Chief Economist Kaushik Basu met with Members of the Committees on Foreign Affairs and Finance in the Swedish Parliament on Wednesday December 4. In the meeting, chaired by Foreign Policy Committee Chair Sofia Arkelsten, Basu briefed the participating MPs on the World Bank's new poverty goals, followed by a discussion of the global economy, the Bank's anti-corruption efforts and the importance of gender equality among other issues.
