Mission 300 is an initiative that aims to provide a reliable energy supply to 300 million people in sub-Saharan Africa by 2030. This initiative is one of the World Bank’s key priorities and will create a significant pipeline of major opportunities over the next few years in the areas of power generation, transmission, distribution and advisory support.

Following on from a session that took place in January 2025 (An Introduction to Mission 300 for Suppliers), this second market engagement webinar focuses on one of the key elements of Mission 300, the West Africa Regional Electricity Market Program (WA-REMP).  WA-REMP is $2.8B strategic initiative to enhance regional energy integration, connectivity and electrification across 15 West African countries and regional entities like the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Power Pool (WAPP). WA-REMP received approval to proceed in January 2025.

This webinar, led jointly by the World Bank and representatives of the countries involved in the initial phases of WA-REMP, Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Ghana, and Mauritania, will provide interested suppliers with:

  • A recap of Mission 300
  • An overview of WA-REMP
  • A detailed look at the initiative’s phases and the individual projects and procurements that it will comprise
  • An recap of the Bank’s Procurement Framework
  • Details of how suppliers can get involved
