The World Bank Group Artwork Competition for Young Artists: My Tajikistan - My Future!

The World Bank Group Tajikistan Country Office is pleased to announce an artwork competition among school students aged 7-17 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the partnership between Tajikistan and the World Bank Group under the theme “My Tajikistan- My Future!”.

Participants are encouraged to think about the important things that help build a better future— such as food, education, energy, jobs, healthcare, housing, community, clean water, and clean air—and how they all work together to create a happy and successful Tajikistan. This is your chance to express how you see the future of Tajikistan through your artwork!

Who can participate?

The competition is open to all school students in Grades 1 to 11 residing in Tajikistan.

How can you submit your artwork?

You can submit your artwork along with a completed Application Form (available on this page in PDF format) in Tajik, English or Russian languages to the following locations:

When is the deadline?

Artwork must be submitted no later than March 15, 2025 (17:00 hours, Dushanbe time).

Winners will be identified for each of the following age-groups: 7-9; 10-12; 13-17 and will be rewarded with:

  • A certificate of achievement.
  • A chance to have their artwork exhibited at World Bank Group Country Office events in Dushanbe.
  • An opportunity for their artwork to be used in the World Bank’s country publications and other promotional items in the future.
  • Publication of their names and artwork on the World Bank Group Tajikistan Facebook page.

Several other selected artworks may also have the chance to be displayed at World Bank events. The date of the competition’s exhibition will be announced at a later date.

Key details for participation:

  • Each participant is allowed to submit only one piece of artwork.
  • The artwork must be the participant’s own original creation, without any adult or collaborative input, and relevant to the topic of “My Tajikistan – My Future!”.
  • Copied artwork, artwork derived from internet sources, or artwork produced using electronic devices or AI-assistance will not be accepted.
  • Submissions must be illustrations on A3-size watercolor paper, created using any technique (e.g., black-and-white graphite pencil drawings, painting, markers, crayons, colored pencils, paints, plasticine or other materials).
  • In the Application Form provide a short description explaining the concept of the artwork (one paragraph of 4-5 sentences) and how the piece is relevant to the topic. Artwork submitted without a completed Application Form will not be considered.
  • The selection of winning artworks will be carried out by an independent evaluation committee.
  • After submission, each artwork will be assigned a unique encrypted number to ensure a fair and unbiased evaluation process.
  • After submission the artwork becomes the property of the World Bank Group and will not be returned after the competition concludes.
  • The World Bank will not cover transportation expenses for the winners of the competition traveling to and from Dushanbe.
  • By submitting artwork, participants and their parents/guardians agree to the rules of this contest.
  • Artwork that does not comply with the rules and regulations will not be accepted or considered.
  • The Application Form should be signed by a parent or legal guardian.
