This session is one of a series jointly organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), UNESCO-IHP, and the 2030 Water Resources Group Multi-Donor Trust Fund managed by the World Bank Water Global Practice.
This session will focus on ways to promote circular economy investments. In a circular approach, most of the water resources are viewed as a finite resource to be conserved and reused whenever possible. The co-benefits of such a view include reduced waste and pollution, more water for the environment to maintain natural systems and ecosystem services, and the delivery of climate-resilient and inclusive services.
Speakers will discuss the importance of climate-resilient water management in the context of investing in a circular economy to achieve sustainable water management for municipal, industrial, and agricultural users and the natural environment. Circular economy approaches can help recover, restore, and supply water resources, materials, and energy for many users.
