The second module of the Learning from the Evidence on Forced Displacement training program focuses on the gender dimensions of forced displacement. Led by Dr Jeni Klugman, Senior Fellow of the Brookings Institution, this training highlights key findings of the World Bank’s Gender Dimensions of Forced Displacement (GDFD) research program.
The session outlines how forced displacement affects the poverty risks and livelihoods of women and men differently, with a focus on the increased risks of intimate partner violence. The format is designed to facilitate participant interaction, with an expert panel of World Bank and UNHCR staff and academics working to understand and address violence against women in displacement settings.
Dr Jeni Klugman previously served as Director, Gender and Development at the World Bank and as Director of the UNDP’s Human Development Report.
