The 2023 Bank-Fund Replication Games event card

Calling all replication enthusiasts! Join us on Monday, July 17, 2023, for a one-day replication challenge co-sponsored by the World Bank, the IMF, and the Institute for Replication (I4R). Participants will collaborate in teams of 2-5 researchers to replicate a paper published in a top journal by World Bank or IMF staff members. In addition to being a fun opportunity to hone your empirical skills and to network with other researchers, participants will be offered co-authorship on a meta-paper combining the replications sponsored by I4R. Each team will receive a WB/IMF-authored paper and reproducibility package, which they are expected to familiarize themselves with before the event. Teams will be formed by I4R based on research interests and software preferences; pre-defined teams are also welcome. During the event, teams will work together in-person to replicate one study. Teams may either conduct a robustness replication (duplicate the results of a prior study using the same data but different procedures than were used by the original investigator) - or recode the study using the raw or intermediate data. Teams may also do a combination of robustness/recoding. After the games, teams write a short report summarizing their replication efforts (template provided).

Don't miss this opportunity to contribute to the advancement of reproducibility in economics research. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details!
