The World Bank Digital Development team and the e-Government Agency of Moldova will co-host a workshop on Data Ecosystem Development in Moldova on April 28, 2022. The event will kick off preparation of Moldova Case Study under the Bank’s Global Data Ecosystem Guide that will illustrate the current state of development of Moldova’s national data ecosystem, showcase achievements, and pinpoint areas for further enhancement. World Development Report (WDR) 2021 “Data for Better Lives” provides analytical framework for the Moldova Data Ecosystem Case Study.
During the workshop, Iurie Țurcanu, Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization, will deliver an Opening Keynote followed by the presentation of World Development Report 2021 “Data for Better Live, by one of the main authors of WDR2021. It will be followed by presentations of good practices in data ecosystem development from Korea by Dr. Jong-Sung Hwang, Representative of National Information Society Agency, Korea, and the United Kingdom by Andrew Stott, former UK Government Deputy CIO and presentation of the Moldova Data-Driven Transformation Journey by Olga Tumuruc, Director of Moldova’s e-Governance Agency. The workshop will also include the launch of the Moldova Data Ecosystem Case Study initiative/presentation by WB experts and panel discussion with Moldovan partners and experts on priorities for developing Moldova’s data ecosystem.
Working languages of the event are Romanian and English. Simultaneous translation will be provided.
