The World Bank Group hosted an Introduction to World Bank Group Operations seminar for parliamentarians on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, from 9:00-10:30 AM EST (Washington DC); 3:00-4:30 PM CET (Paris).
Participating Members of Parliament dialogued with high-level spokespeople from across the World Bank Group on the organization’s structure, mandate, operations, results, challenges and current priorities.
As representatives of the people, parliamentarians are important stakeholders to the World Bank Group in shaping projects and programs to meet citizens’ needs. They also play an essential role in shaping laws, approving budgets, and upholding good governance.
This seminar was an opportunity to learn more about how parliamentarians can partner with the World Bank Group to achieve better development results at the country level. It was also an occasion for the World Bank Group to gauge interest in potential future learning and capacity building programs.
