MEDICAL OXYGEN: A KEY COMMODITY DURING THE PANDEMIC
The World Bank and PATH, in a collaborative effort, jointly organized a series of webinars to share best practices, lessons learned, and expert insights for a strong oxygen ecosystem in India. Each webinar encouraged deliberation between World Bank personnel and their counterparts in India and other South Asian countries on issues related to oxygen generation, its supply chain management, and end-use. The webinars were attended by more than 200 participants per session, participants had the chance to ask technical experts, share experiences and draw lessons on optimal management of oxygen resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The recommendations emerging from these consultations will be considered by the wide range of stakeholders in medical oxygen – the government, the industry, development sector partners, donor community and research organizations to develop and roll out more responsive and comprehensive policies, programs, and interventions for medical oxygen in India.
