The third APPKE Forum is being held in Bali, Indonesia from October 24-25, 2018 and hosted by the National Public Procurement Agency - LKPP. The forum is sponsored by the World Bank.
The theme of the third APPKE Forum, “Improving Effectiveness of Public Procurement through Data Analytics” is particularly relevant for addressing the need of most ASEAN countries for establishing modern Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems that rely on data for measuring and analytics for assessing the performance and outcomes of the public procurement system, and thereby providing evidence-based insights for policy improvements. In this digital era, the use of modern tools such as data-driven M&E systems supported by robust e-procurement systems is the way forward.
High level government officials responsible for public procurement policies and oversight in the ten ASEAN countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) are expected to attend in the forum. In addition, representatives from Development Partner Organizations working in the ASEAN countries (World Bank, ADB, JICA, IDB, DFAT, UNDP, MCC, US Trade and Development Agency, etc.) including ASEAN Secretariat office will also participate.
International speakers and participants from all the participating countries will make presentations and discuss the experiences in implementing procurement reforms in their countries. There will also be panel discussions drill down on specific related sub-topics.
