This course is organized by the World Bank Development Research Group based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The course will present an overview of major techniques for impact evaluation and an introduction to the mixed methods approach. The main instructor for the course is Karthik Muralidharan (University of California, San Diego), and Vijayendra Rao (World Bank) will teach a supplementary module on mixed-methods evaluations.
This course is mainly aimed at academic/university researchers and policymakers. It has limited slots. While all qualified applicants are welcome to apply, selected applicants will be notified by September 15, 2018. Applicants are not required to have an affiliation with the World Bank but must have an advanced degree (at least masters level) in Economics or Statistics. Importantly, all registered students should commit to participate for the entire duration of the course. The course is provided free of charge; however, participants will have to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.
