Climate change presents significant challenges for society. In order to address the potential impacts of climate change in Bulgaria, including social vulnerability, the Government of Bulgaria has committed to producing a "National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan" for the country.

The Government has asked the World Bank to provide assistance in the framework of the Reimbursable Advisory Service Agreement, which enables partnerships with countries in protecting their natural assets.
