Program for Results (PforR) Client Event for South Asia, East Asia and the Pacific Region
December 12-14, 2016Bangkok, Thailand

The Program-for-Results (PforR) instrument was approved by the World Bank Board of Executive Directors in 2012. Since its creation, there has been a steady increase in the use of the PforR instrument by our client countries. In response to the major findings of the 2-year review of implementation experiences and building on the success of PforR peer-to-peer learning events for staff, the World Bank is embarking on 3 client learning events to share practical experiences and good practices across its client countries. The first client event was held in Tanzania in June 2016 for the Africa region. The second event is taking place in Bangkok, Thailand on December 12-14, 2016 covering clients in East Asia and Pacific (EAP) and South Asia (SAR) Regions. The third event will take place next year to cover clients in the rest of the regions.

Objectives

• Enhance the understanding and use of the PforR instrument amongst EAP and SAR client countries

• Enhance participants’ network for exchanging experiences in preparation and implementation of PforR operations

• Increase World Bank staff understanding of client countries’ perspectives of the PforR instrument and how better to facilitate its adoption by client countries in SAR and EAP regions

By invitation only. Presentations and other materials will be posted after the workshop.
