The 2015 Seminar for Senior Bank Supervisors from Emerging Economies, jointly organized by the World Bank and its partner institutions, the International Monetary Fund and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, was held from October 19-30, 2015 in Washington, D.C.
Experts from the three organizing institutions and guest speakers updated participants on emerging financial sector issues and trends, discussed supervisory approaches and supervisory techniques in the context of advances in risk management and risk assessment, and suggested solutions for dealing with bank insolvency and financial system distress. Specific topics included latest regulatory developments, stress testing, risk governance, bank recovery and resolution, deposit insurance, loan loss provisioning, cyber security, and the assessment of credit risks, liquidity and market risks and operational risks in bank supervision.
Fifty-six senior officials representing central banks and financial supervisory agencies from 48 jurisdictions participated in the Seminar, with all World Bank regions represented.
