World Bank Disaster Risk Management Hub, Tokyo organized a project launch workshop on “Road Geohazard Risk Management” on August 4, 2015, connecting six cities of Belgrade, New Delhi, Sarajevo, Skopje, Tokyo, and Washington D.C. This project is as part of DRM Hub’s Knowledge Program: Roads, Landslides and DRM under the Japan-World Bank Program.
Disaster Risk Management Specialists gathered around the virtual table, and discussed about development of handbook in order to provide practical guidance to practitioners in developing countries on integrated geohazard risk management. To determine the essential needs, participants exchanged information focusing on the challenges and opportunities on road and transport investments in developing countries, and how handbook could potentially contribute effective project implementation and enhancing resilience of road infrastructure.
