Where's My Blue Sky?: A Call for Clean Air Championship in Nepal

Art Competition Nepal

Air pollution poses a severe public health crisis across Kathmandu Valley and the Terai region of Nepal. It leads to a decrease in the average life expectancy by five years in average and is responsible for the development of serious cardiovascular and lung diseases. These health issues not only impact people's well-being but also hinder their productivity and diminish their overall quality of life, resulting in tangible economic repercussions. The estimated adverse effects of air pollution on the welfare of Nepal are equivalent to more than six percent of the national GDP.

Nepal is actively collaborating with the stakeholders and its neighboring countries to find solutions to curb air pollution. As a longstanding development partner, the World bank is dedicated to supporting Nepal’s efforts to convene the multisectoral voices, commitment, actions, and investments in addressing air pollution.

In this context, we are calling upon Nepali youth to share their vision for clean air for Nepal and be a part of the clean air campaign through an exciting art challenge.

In 25 minutes, paint your vision for cleaner air for Nepal. Win a chance to get your art featured in an international platform.
