Yitbarek Tessema Mammo

Senior Water Supply and Sanitation Specialist

Yitbarek Tessema Mammo joined the World Bank in 1997 as an infrastructure specialist in the Ethiopia country office. Over the years, he has held various positions both in country offices and at headquarters. Before joining the World Bank, he held senior roles in Ethiopia’s public and private sectors, including head of urban development and planning. His expertise spans coordination, policy dialogue, and the design, preparation, and supervision of large-scale World Bank operations, including multi-donor supported water sector programs.

Most recently, he served as a senior water supply and sanitation specialist in the West and Central Africa Water unit, leading the water portfolio in the Ghana CMU and temporarily managing the unit. Currently, Yitbarek is a key member of the Water Supply and Sanitation Global Solutions Group, focusing on the PIR thematic area.
