Yeon Soo Kim is a Senior Economist in the Global Unit of the Poverty and Equity Global Practice at the World Bank. She is a global lead for the Global Solutions Group for the Distributional Impacts of Fiscal and Social Policies. She previously led the engagement on poverty and equity issues in several countries in the Europe and Central Asia and South Asia regions and was based in the Sri Lanka country office from 2018-2021. During her time at the Bank, she has led analytical work on poverty, inequality, fiscal incidence, informality, and spatial disparities. Prior to joining the World Bank, she was an Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Development Institute, specializing in migration, labor and health issues. She holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
