As of July 1, 2024, Valeria Di Fiori is the World Bank Group Resident Representative for Uruguay, a position that will unify country-level leadership across the institution to better support Uruguay's public and private sector priorities.

Valeria Di Fiori has over 15 years of experience in development, with a focus on promoting private sector investments. She began her career at the World Bank in 2008 as an Investment Policy and Promotion Consultant, where she advised governments worldwide on issues related to foreign direct investment. In 2017, she transitioned to the IFC, where she focused on identifying new investment opportunities and on developing relationships with the private sector, authorities, and civil society in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

Before joining the World Bank Group, she worked at prominent think tanks in Buenos Aires and Washington, D.C.

Ms. Di Fiori, an Argentine national, holds a degree in International Relations from Universidad de San Andrés in Buenos Aires and a master’s degree in international policy from Georgetown University, as a Fulbright Scholar.
