Tom Edwards is a Junior Analyst within the Financial Products and Client Solutions (CMIFP) team of the World Bank Treasury. He is part of a team of financial specialists that design and implement financial solutions for sovereigns, sub-sovereigns, and state-owned enterprises. These financial solutions help clients: (1) access financing for development by mobilizing World Bank Group resources and private sector financing; (2) mitigate the impact of financial, natural disaster, and commodity risks by facilitating access to market-based risk management tools; and (3) strengthen capacity to implement efficient risk management strategies by providing advisory services.
As an analyst, Tom covers Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. He also supports colleagues worldwide on various financial solutions. He started his career at Treehill Partners, a boutique investment bank and consultancy, where he gained experience in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory.
Tom holds a BSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics and was born and raised in the United Kingdom.
