Shanthi Divakaran is a senior financial sector specialist at the World Bank’s Finance, Competitiveness & Innovation Global Practice. Shanthi focuses on advising governments on Investment Funds in developing markets, including mutual funds, private equity/venture capital funds and sovereign wealth funds. As part of this focus, Shanthi also led the set-up of the World Bank’s Sovereign Wealth Fund secretariat. Prior to the World Bank, Shanthi worked for four years in both investment banking and corporate banking for the Financial Institutions Group at JP Morgan Chase, New York. Shanthi holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management. She graduated magna cum laude, with high honors in Physics, from Mount Holyoke College.
