Said Dahdah is Program Manager of the Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF) and the Global Lead for Road Safety at the World Bank. An internationally recognized transport and road safety expert, Said has over 15 years of experience in the transport sector, with expertise in policy dialogue, advisory services, program development, and portfolio management.
Throughout his career at the World Bank, Said has led numerous transport and road safety investment and advisory projects. After joining the World Bank in 2006 as a Road Safety Specialist at GRSF, Said has served as Senior Transport Specialist in the Latin America and the Caribbean, South Asia, and Middle East and North Africa regions, and has undertaken field assignments in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Among Said’s notable achievements in the domain of road safety are the formulation of road safety requirements for all World Bank-financed transport projects adopted in June 2020; the development of the Road Safety Screening and Appraisal Tool mandated for use across all World Bank road projects; the development of the Road Safety Good Practice Note for ESS4; transitioning GRSF to an Umbrella Trust Fund structure; and leading the creation of a Road Safety Unit within the Transport Global Department. Said holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Transportation Safety from George Washington University.
