Peter Siegenthaler assumed the role as country manager for Colombia on September 1, 2021. Based in Bogotá, he will lead the ongoing dialogue with the Government of Colombia and help optimize the impact of the World Bank's financial and technical assistance programs in the country. Mr. Siegenthaler is an economist specialized in public finance management. Prior to this appointment, he was Lead Economist for the Southern Cone (Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay). In addition, he was Resident Representative in Uruguay and Senior Advisor to the executive director of Switzerland in the Administrative Council. Siegenthaler has an MA in Development Economics from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics from the University of Zurich.
