Development Economics

Pauline Castaing is an Economist for the Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS), the World Bank’s flagship household survey program housed at the Development Data Group. In this role, she supports the design, implementation, and analysis of household surveys in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Her research focuses on development economics, with an emphasis on survey methods, labor markets, agriculture, and human capital.  

Before joining the World Bank, Pauline worked at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), where she conducted impact assessments of rural development interventions. She holds a Ph.D. in Development Economics from CERDI, University Clermont Auvergne, a M.Sc. in Environmental Economics from AgroParisTech, and a M.Sc. in Economics from the Paris School of Economics.
