Marie Rodland-Allen, a national of The Bahamas, currently serves as Alternate Executive Director for Antigua & Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Kitts & Nevis, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines at the World Bank Group since July 23, 2024.
Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Marie was the Deputy Chief People Officer at First Republic Bank where she led Human Resources for the Bank's east coast operations. Marie also led the Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion teams for the Bank.
Prior to joining First Republic Bank, Marie was the Managing Director of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) Caribbean's Bahamas and Turks & Caicos Islands operations (CIBC Bahamas). In this leadership role, Marie led the day-to-day banking operations and financial performance of the largest publicly traded and only unionized bank in The Bahamas and largest bank in the Turks & Caicos islands, providing products and services to clients through Retail and Business Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, and Wealth Management segments. Marie was also the Bank's primary representative for the Press, Media, Regulators, Government, Peer Financial Institutions, Community Organizations and Unions.
Marie also served as a Director of CIBC Bahamas and the Director and Chair of CIBC Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited. To date, she is the youngest Managing Director appointed to head a member institution of the Clearing Banks' Association of The Bahamas.
Prior to joining CIBC, Marie worked at Citigroup in their Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Private Banking departments. In her last assignment, she was the Senior Vice President and Global Head of Special Investments for Citigroup's global trust business headquartered in New York.
Marie is the recipient of several awards including Celebrating Women International's "Women of Distinction" award and the "40 under 40 Award" by the Bahamas Government's Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture in conjunction with Jones Communications in recognition of outstanding performance and as an inspiration to the nation's youth.
She is also a recipient of the Harvard Business School YPO Presidents' Program and York University's Schulich School of Business Masters Certificate in Financial Services Leadership. She is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization, a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a member of the 2023 class of David Rockefeller Fellows through the Partnership for New York City.
Marie holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business and a dual Masters of Business Administration degrees from Cornell University and Queen's University.
