Jongrim Ha is a Senior Economist in the World Bank’s Prospects Group. His main fields of specialization are open-economy macroeconomics, international finance, monetary economics, and time-series econometrics. He has contributed to many volumes of the flagship Global Economic Prospects reports and coedited the 2019 book Inflation in Emerging and Developing Economies: Evolution, Drivers, and Policies, published by the World Bank. He has also published academic journal articles on topics such as inflation in emerging market and developing economies, monetary policy challenges in small open economies, global macro-financial linkages, global confidence cycles and spillovers, and economic uncertainty. Before joining the World Bank, he served as an economist at the Bank of Korea, in positions in the Research Department, Financial Stability Department, and the Secretariat to the Governor of the Bank. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from Cornell University and B.A. in economics from Seoul National University.
