Jacques Morisset is currently the Lead Economist and Equity, Finance, and Institutions (EFI) Program Leader for AECS1 (South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia). After receiving his PhD in economics from the University of Geneva, he has held various positions at the World Bank and IFC covering a wide spectrum of countries and regions. He has led or co-led lending and non-lending products and advised governments on multiple economic areas including growth, financial markets, investment promotion, fiscal and tax policies, and labor markets. Jacques has published in academic journals, including the World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, and World Development. He was a member of the Board of the World Bank Economic Review.
