Ina-Marlene Ruthenberg has been the World Bank Country Manager for Zambia until June 2019. She is a Development Economist with broad experience in policy as well as operational work in bilateral and multilateral organizations (World Bank Group, Inter-American Development Bank and European Union).
Prior to becoming Country Manager for Zambia, she has held various technical and managerial leadership positions which include; Alternate Executive Director, Country Program Coordinator, Senior Economist/Task Team Leader, and Deputy Head of the Extractive Industries Review and Adviser to the Executive Director.
Ruthenburg has been recognized for working effectively at high level decision-making fora, such as board of executive directors at two multilateral development banks and EU-councils. She has also been recognized for her work in operationalizing policies, designing and implementing Country Partnership Strategies as both a policy and operational tool. Ina is a Germany national. She holds a Masters Degree in Economics from Georg August University and is a Graduate of the German Development Institute (GDI) in Germany.
