Hisham Nehad Seifeldin, an Egypt national, is the World Bank Group Alternate Executive Director representing Bahrain, Arab Republic of Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Maldives, Oman, Qatar, West Bank and Gaza, United Arab Emirates, and Republic of Yemen since August 2022.
Mr. Seifeldin is an Egyptian ambassador who served in senior positions at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs prior to joining the WBG Board, including Assistant Foreign Minister for Multilateral Economic Affairs, International and Regional; Assistant Foreign Minister for North and South America; Assistant Foreign Minister for the Affairs of the Cabinet of the Minister; Director of the Palestinian Affairs Department; and Deputy Chief Negotiator, Egyptian-European Partnership Unit, Council of Ministers.
He was the Ambassador of Egypt to the Swiss Confederation and to the Principality of Liechtenstein (2016-2020); Minister Plenipotentiary, Deputy Head of Mission, Egyptian Embassy to the Federal Republic of Germany (2010-2014); and Counsellor at the Egyptian Embassy to the United States (2005-2008). Earlier in his career, Mr. Seifeldin was the Second Secretary at the Egyptian Embassy to the Kingdom of Belgium and Egyptian Mission to the EU (1992-1996).
