Hicham Rachdi works in the Capital Markets and Investments Department of World Bank Treasury where he focuses on the design and issuance of structured bond transactions that mobilize private capital for sustainable development needs and help clients mitigate risks.
Hicham has been at the World Bank since 2021. He started in the debt origination team contributing to the borrowing programs for IBRD and IDA, issuing plain vanilla and structured notes, and executing all derivatives related to funding, across different markets. In his current role he leads the structuring and execution of innovative outcomes bonds that mobilize capital to directly support sustainable development projects and help clients manage risk. He also leads catastrophe bond transactions that provide World Bank member countries with insurance cover for natural disasters.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Hicham spent ten years working in investment banking in Paris and London, at Natixis. He holds a Master’s degree in Financial and Economic Engineering from Université Paris Dauphine and a Bachelor’s degree from Toulouse School of Economics.
