Hardwick Tchale, a Malawian national, joined the Bank in 2005 after spending a few years as lecturer in the University of Malawi, Bunda College of Agriculture. His World Bank experience includes positions in Malawi where he worked as an agricultural economist, and since 2010 as a senior agricultural economist. While in Malawi, he worked on agriculture and land sector projects as task team leader. He was also involved in preparing and supporting the implementation of agriculture, land and social sector projects in Rwanda and Uganda. From 2012, he took up the position of senior agricultural economist based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Currently, he works on agriculture and land sector projects in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ghana.
He holds a doctorate degree in Agricultural Economics completed in 2005 at the Center for Development Research of the University of Bonn in Germany.
