Hamoud Abdel Wedoud Kamil is the World Bank Country Manager for Burkina Faso as of February 4, 2024. He previously served as the Human Development Coordinator for Burundi, Angola, Sao Tome and Principe and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where he was based.
Having joined the World Bank in January 2009 as Senior Education Specialist for Côte d'Ivoire, he subsequently coordinated and led the preparation and implementation of education and employment projects in Gabon, Senegal, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and Burundi, and has extensive experience in the human development sector. Before joining the World Bank, he worked for the Mauritanian Ministry of Planning as Director of Education and Training projects.
A Mauritanian national, Wedoud holds a postgraduate degree in education systems evaluation from the University of Bourgogne, France.
