Garima Vasishtha is a Senior Economist in the World Bank's Prospects Group. She is one of the lead authors of the corporate flagship Global Economic Prospects report that presents the World Bank’s view on the global economy and associated policy challenges for developing countries. She is an applied macroeconomist and conducts research on policy-relevant issues in the broad fields of international finance, open economy macroeconomics, and commodity markets. Prior to joining the World Bank, she served as a Senior Advisor to the Executive Director for Canada, Ireland, and the Caribbean at the IMF. Garima began her career at the Bank of Canada, where she held a range of roles in the International Department. She holds a Ph.D. in International Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
