Franklin Mutahakana is the World Bank Resident Representative for The Gambia based in Banjul as of July 1, 2024.
Prior to his assignment, Mr. Mutahakana served as Senior Operations Officer in the World Bank Uganda Country Office. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2014, he worked with the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), the Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI) both based in Harare, Zimbabwe as well as the Bank of Uganda.
A Ugandan national, Franklin holds a Masters in Banking and Finance for Development (MBF), Finafrica Institute, Milan, Italy.
The Gambia is one of 21 World Bank Group offices transitioning to a single World Bank Group Country Manager or Resident Representative for the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), International Development Association (IDA), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).
