Ms. Dinara Djoldosheva is the World Bank Country Representative for Lesotho starting in September 2024, based in Maseru. A Kyrgyz national, Ms. Djoldosheva joined the World Bank in 1998 and has since held several key positions. Most recently, she served as Country Program Coordinator/Senior Operations Officer for the Nigeria Country Unit. Prior to that, she was the Country Program Coordinator for Indonesia and a Senior Country Officer/Portfolio Manager for Central Asia, overseeing programs in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. Additionally, she has provided support to the World Bank's engagements in Russia and Ukraine.
Ms. Djoldosheva's career includes substantial experience in the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as in academia, where she lectured on political economy. She brings a wealth of expertise across academia, government, and international development institutions, with deep operational and client experience in transitioning economies and various World Bank regions.
Ms. Djoldosheva holds a PhD in Political Economy from Sankt Petersburg University, Russian Federation.
