Christopher Sheldon

Christopher Sheldon has served as Operations Manager for Viet Nam, Cambodia, and Lao PDR since July 2026, based in Ha Noi. He previously served as Country Manager for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, and as Practice Manager in the Energy and Extractives Global Practice, where he oversaw the Extractive unit’s operations across all six of the World Bank's regions and managed global trust-funded programs.

Before joining the World Bank in 1999, Mr. Sheldon spent a decade in the private sector, working for an international mining company in Papua New Guinea and the Philippines, and as a Chartered Accountant in his home of Sydney, Australia. Since then, he has worked across a range of sector issues, including legal and fiscal policy, private sector investment, environmental sustainability, community development, and transparency and governance.

Mr. Sheldon holds an MBA from the University of Newcastle and a Bachelor of Economics in accountancy and legal studies from Macquarie University. He is also an Australian Chartered Accountant.
