Benoît Bosquet is the Regional Director for Sustainable Development for the Latin America and Caribbean Region at the World Bank. He previously served in the same capacity for the East Asia and Pacific Region. Prior to this he was Director for the Environment and Natural Resources Global Practice and Practice Manager for Environment and Natural Resources in West and Central Africa and the Indian Ocean islands. He has also led global partnerships for climate change mitigation, including the Prototype Carbon Fund, BioCarbon Fund and Forest Carbon Partnership Facility.
He has lived and worked in Russia and Madagascar, and has 30 years of experience working on natural resources management, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and humanitarian relief in developing countries and emerging economies (in Africa, Europe and Central Asia, and Latin America).
Benoît Bosquet is Belgian. He holds an M.A. in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Maryland.
