Amy Doherty, a US national, joined the World Bank having demonstrated successful leadership in technology, transformation, and information security in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, Amy served as Chief Operating Officer at First Command Financial Services, an international financial services company that promotes financial security for America’s military families. In this role, she led the transformation to agile business practices and an overall modernization of the technology architecture and infrastructure. Prior to First Command, Amy served as Chief Information Officer at American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), a social mission and membership organization, which was named #2 Best Places to Work in IT by Computerworld. While at AARP, Amy transitioned to an agile development methodology, and moved their services to the cloud. Earlier in her career, Amy served in key technology leadership positions at Freddie Mac, American Financial Realty Trust, and General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) Commercial Mortgage.
Amy holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from Pennsylvania State University. She has been featured in CIO Magazine, Forbes and Computerworld. In 2019, she was recognized as CIO of the Year in the nonprofit/public sector by the Capital CIO Leadership Association. She proudly serves as a Sequoyah Fellow for the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. Amy is passionate about empowering women in technology leadership and creating a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and innovation.
