Aisha Williams is the Global Director of the Global Infrastructure Finance Department at the World Bank. In this capacity, Aisha oversees a team of experts dedicated to increasing private sector participation in infrastructure. The Global Infrastructure Department advises client countries on policies and regulations that help governments build stronger investment environments, prepare infrastructure projects, and structure financial solutions that bring these projects to market.
Prior to this role, Aisha was the Director for Partnerships and Blended Finance at IFC, where she led the team responsible for IFC’s efforts to raise and deploy concessional donor funding to unlock private investment for development. Aisha joined IFC in 2005 and held several positions during her tenure there.
Aisha previously worked as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Co. in Chicago, USA, specializing in financial institutions. Aisha holds an MSc in Development Economics from Oxford University, an MBA from Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University) and a B.A. from Princeton.
Aisha is a dual citizen of the United States and Trinidad & Tobago.
