OBJECTIVESThe MRV capacity building program is designed as two separate segments aiming at (i) providing domestic oil and gas producers with the necessary competencies and tools to reliably measure and report their methane emissions and (ii) enabling the regulator; NUPRC; to verify the quality of the emissions reports receivedSCOPE The key tasks to be carried out as part of the MRV capacity building program comprise the below. It is expected that by preparing and delivering the trainings; the Consultant combines; i) international best practices; ii) its knowledge of the existing Nigerian legal/regulatory and sector/country context and requirements; and iii) its local knowledge of the specific challenges faced by domestic oil and gas producers in meeting the regulatory objectives.
