The current proposal supports the second stage of the MPD project in Kazakhstan that consist of two components. The expected duration of the second stage is 9 months. The first component aims at implementing the existing methodologies that aim to produce the basic domestic tourism statistics. This task will be followed by concurrent additional training of the NSO/MNO task team focusing on specific MDP methodologies relevant to domestic tourism sector. The second component has a focus on deeper analysis of the domestic tourism data to identify anomalies and areas for improvement. It also covers validating results and generating outputs using extrapolation models. Finally; the components conclude with report preparation and dissemination activities. Specifically; the applicant will support the MPD project in Kazakhstan by implementing two components:Component 1: Enhanced Capacity on Methodological Steps and Initial Tourism Data Output1. Advanced training on MPD methodologies relevant to tourism statistics2. Preparation of the script customized for the MNO data sandbox to calculate domestic tourism statistics.Component 2: Analysis; Comparison; and Validation of Tourism Results1. Detailed analysis of the domestic tourism data to identify trends; anomalies; and areas for improvement.2. Reference data comparison to validate results and build a statistical extrapolation model.3. Preparation of reports and presentations; holding a workshop to share findings with primary stakeholders
