The objective of this study; funded by the Korean Green Growth Trust Fund (KGGTF); is to provide strategic solutions to improve the livability of Kandy city by fostering green urban mobility and smart city planning. It will provide timely support to the Government of Sri Lanka in implementing its strategic priorities. It will complement the World Bank-funded project in offering a complete solution for transforming Kandy into a livable and competitive city. The study will directly provide (a) a strategic vision; (b) a concrete investment pipeline under the form of an Action Plan; and (c) capacity building to improve urban mobility infrastructure and services. The Action Plan will identify the relevant developmental activities that could potentially be taken up for implementation under the extension of the KMTT project; especially by leveraging private and climate change financing.
