The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) currently manages a centralized statistical and reporting database; along with 21 other specialized databases. The centralized statistical and reporting database is the largest and is shared by various units of the SBV. This database collects data periodically and regularly from multiple internal and external sources. As banking services continue to expand and diversify; coupled with the emergence of new financial technology products and services; there is an increasing need for a more robust database system. The new system's architecture is expected to follow best practices and principles of Big Data design; encompassing the entire data management lifecycle: from data collection; validation; and cleansing; through processing; storage; and analytics; to visualization; sharing; dissemination; and archiving. The World Bank is seeking a consulting firm with strong qualifications and a solid reputation to assist the SBV in developing a report assessing and evaluating the current status of the SBV's specialized banking statistical and reporting database as a basis for recommending a suitable Big Data architecture for SBV in the coming time and moving towards connecting and unifying with the national database.Key deliverablesCurrent State Assessment Report: an evaluation of the SBV's specialized banking statistical and reporting database.Recommendation Report: a high-level Big Data architecture for SBV; along with an implementation roadmap.
