The World Bank is looking for a consultancy to carry out field measurements of methane (CH4) emissions from bovine livestock production and assess the mitigation opportunities of low-emission livestock technologies prioritized by the Colombia Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions for the cattle ranching sector (NAMA-Bovine / NAMA-B). The results will be used as input for building technology adoption scenarios and evaluate climate and financial gains from implementing methane emission reduction strategies in livestock systems. This consultancy aims to identify and validate key results indicators for methane emissions in livestock farms; enabling access to RBF and payments for emissions reductions. Methane data will be tracked and evaluated across livestock systems with different levels of technology adoption. Specifically; this study will examine methane emissions from two groups of farms in Colombia's Orinoquía region. Group 1 comprises 1;000 farms with minimal adoption technology; currently involved in an ongoing WB study. Group 2 consists of 25 farms which have initiated technology adoption through two WB projects that have already closed. A subsample of the farms in each of the two groups will be used for the proposed study which includes four components.
