The objective of this study is to carry out an assessment of existing and potential new fishery and mariculture value chains in Morocco; to identify constraints and opportunities for sector growth. The scope of the study focuses on capture fisheries and mariculture and exclude inland freshwater aquaculture.The study will include a value chains development plan for selected value chains. The plan should describe policy reforms and investments that are required to sustainably increase production and productivity; create jobs and generate income opportunities. Tasks include a literature review; inception report; and workshops with stakeholders; followed by data collection and a value chain analysis of Moroccan fisheries and mariculture; and the preparation of a development plan aligned with Morocco’s Halieutis strategy.Key deliverables include reports; workshops; and data analyses; with a timeline spanning between January 20; 2025 to July 31; 2025. The task requires a Task Team Leader; Fisheries Value-Chains Specialist; National Fisheries Specialist; Market Specialist; Socio-economic Specialist; Gender Specialist; Environmental and Climate Specialist; and Data Analyst; all with relevant experience; advanced degrees; and preferably knowledge of Morocco's fisheries sector. Fluency in English and French is essential.
